Accepting Payments

If you have a physical stall/stand for your goods, what payment types do you tend to accept? Do you accept card payments as well or do you prefer cash to ensure you don't pay any extra fees?

I'd like to recommend against using Square. Although I don't have a craft business, they seriously screwed my business over recently. (I'll be happy to post a link to the Twitter exchange which demonstrates this, if it will not violate any forum rules.)

Redde Payments in California seems a good alternative. I'll also be exploring Capital One.

You can post the link.

I suspect just about any payment system will have someone who has been treated spectacularly badly. Personally I'd always use a separate bank account for anything like that, just to make absolutely sure the payment processor has no way of shutting me out of my primary bank account.

I would agree with that but there definitely will be a few payment processors that are a lot worse than others. I know a lot of people have had trouble with PayPal but the majority of my experience with them has been positive.

As long as it's a physical store business, you can never exclude having the option of accepting both cash and card transactions as well as bank transfers.

It's only when you sell only online that you're going to be strictly using transfers or PayPal.

I prefer the paypal and stripe. I get mostly paypal based payments. I think gumroad is a place where you can easily sell things and also get the payment easily.

Cash payment will always be better considering the type of financial institutions that we have in this country. I don't think I am going to take the risk of using card options where a transaction may get declined.

in order to accept card payment, you need stripe, however, stripe is not available here. I only offer paypal and crypto payment.
