Why buy fancy holders for your tea lights? Use battery operated tea lights for no mess.

LED would do good too. In fact they can be placed in a places where you can easily get the lights spread too. More power to LED means more shdowy lights.

LED are so much brighter. Do they come in the soft yellow glow or are they all the cool blue looking lights?

There def are LED lights that can change color and the brightness, but the thing is it's more expensive I think.

I love the idea of creating a clay lantern. I normally use store-bought lanterns for when the power goes out, but I am certainly interested in crafting my own lanterns. I may give this a try in the upcoming days, if I'm successful I'll give you guys an update. Time to get my clay crafting kit out haha. Thank you for sharing this crafting idea, it has really got my motivation flowing.

I like this a lot! I cannot burn candles, don't know why! Even natural ones have ingredients that make me sick. But I like the flickering of the candle if it'd be LED, same way I like the flickering of a campfire, just without the smell & mess. This would be a great alternative for others as well.
