Beeswax Candles

One of my friend does the bee keeping in his farm. And he seems to be collecting a lot of beeswax over the years. And this puts him into dillema of what to do with large amount of the beeswax that he gets in some seasons. In past he kind of used it for small projects. But recently I suggested him about making the candles using the beeswax. There seems to be a lot of information out there for making the beeswax candles.

Have you made beesswax candles at home?

I have made candles previously, including beeswax. You get a lovely textured wax candle from beeswax.

Indeed and another useful part about beeswax is that you get them pretty cheap too. Though beeswax in some places may be expensive depending on where you are buying.

I made it one time. I put in citronella essential oil. But for me, I can honestly find cheaper organic, sustainable ones than making it myself. Plus we don't use candles. I just did it 'cos sounded interesting.

Yeah adding essential oil can be useful especially the lavendar oil or any other which you want to be in the air when the beeswax is burning.

This was in one of the newest magazines. Thought it fitting to post it for those who are like me who like having a 'recipe'. I like things measured. Dab of this, pinch of that is NOT a measurement for me lol

I also found one interesting video on the topic. For those who prefer the video instruction for making something like beeswax candle.

I have made beeswax candles by reusing the scraps from candles. In my candles, I used scrap crayons as the candle color. My candles were not very fine but I was really happy with the result because I made candles without spending any money on wax and colors.
