Dinosaur Eggs

I wish I had pictures from this, but alas I don't think I ever took any. My roommate wanted to make a gift for her students (she works in childcare) and came up with the idea to make dinosaur eggs. We purchased a dozen or so easter eggs, soap base and plastic dinos. The kitchen was a utter mess as we tried to figure out how to get hot soap in an egg while keeping the dino suspended in the center. But after hours of labor, they kids and parents loved the idea.

Did I mention the blue dye we added......our counters were tented blue for months. It was a mess, but a fun mess.

Never heard of someone making dinosaur eggs. That could be quite decorative. To be honest it would be even more interesting if someone had a preserved dinosaur egg that was real and it was able to hatch. Just interesting thought that came to mind when reading this thread. But yes what can I say.... so many forms of art and decor out there.

It must have been a lot of hard work but the reaction of the kids must have been amazing to see. It really does sound like a unique and awesome idea. Would have loved to have seen some pictures of it!

There are bath bombs that can be made like dino eggs. I am sure someone out there must be using this idea. Like making egg style dino eggs. It is some good weekend project in my opinion.

Has anybody made these recently? Do you have links & pictures that would be beneficial to others who would like to try their hand at this?
How easy was this to make versus other craft projects? Can kids help or should this be for adults only?
