Outdoor decorations out of wood.

I have made a Santa on a sleigh with Rudolph Christmas decoration out of plywood. Its pretty easy if you a projector. All you have to do is fine the right picture online and project it on to the wood using a projector. I believe now they sale mini cheap projectors for your phone which would make it a lot cheaper then buying a big projector. After that trace it. Then cut it out and paint it. I went to Dollar store and got couple of $1 box of lights and stapled then around the wood so it would shine at night. I used a 1x1 for stakes to hold it into the ground. I highly suggest using pressure treated plywood so it will last longer. It might be more expensive however it will hold up for you a lot longer then regular cheap plywood.

Pictures will be added soon.

That sounds incredible! I can't wait to see a pic. I've always wanted to create some outdoor decorations like that but I'm not good with the tools that are needed to make them.

My family puts up decorations almost every year for Christmas and it always looks quite amazing. They always buy reindeer figures and put up ice-sicle lights. Our yard always looks like it was made for the season. I wish they would decorate on Halloween. Something they don't do. Really because that's one of my favorite holidays. But yes a santa sleigh is a good decoration to have.

To be honest, I tried making a doll once but it came out like a Halloween decoration. That was ages ago and I am sure you need a lot of skill to make something out of wood.
I can't wait to see some pictures of wood decorations as well. It's a really good art and as far as I know, there is a lot of demand for this art. I will try to give it a try soon. Second time could be a charm :D

I would love to see a picture of this Dotgician; It sounds awesome!

I purchased a few wooden pieces this year for my front lawn, but would love to possibly make my own next festive season.

I made one that wasn't very complex for my Bar. My old house has a detached garage I turned into a B&B (Bar and Billiards ;) ) and I needed a sign for it, so I took some wood and burned my logo and the name of the bar in it. I don't have a picture as I forgot to take it with me when I sold the house, and now I'm several states away.

You can make some of the sitting arrangement in the backyard if you regularly have the bbq parties or the weekend eating rounds. I think those type of the arrangement definitely helps as well.

I can't wait for the pictures Dotgician. 😊

Actually, I like to have collections of wooden crafts. But I have never tried making one myself.

The way you have explained, sounds easy, but definitely it will need lots of appartus and skills. I mean, I can easily make crafts from papers, but not from plywoods. 😆

Anybody else have some ideas they have created for outdoor projects? We'd love to see pictures as it would help entice others to get a start on woodworking as well.
