I have an oil painting work of mine that I presented to the ruler of Dubai when he visited our street. He signed it for me and asked me to hang it at my home.

This was some 7 years back. Now, when I look at it, I can see that the insects have started eating the paper up. Is there any preservation methods you can suggest me? I dont want to spoil it because its special for me.

Do you know if the painting was ever varnished? I don't know much about insects eating artwork but I'm wondering if fumigation is safe for it?
